Trinidad Community Garden / CSA
:: CSA brochure : outside, inside :: CSA Member Contract :: Our first season was a tremendous success providing organic produce to neighbors, the soup kitchen, seniors, volunteers and the general public. 15'x15' lots are now available. The Learning Farms CSA cooperative is a network of 4 farms working together to grow organic produce for the local community. Memberships and working memberships are available at a low cost, in return you can pick up your mixed bag of produce weekly at the farm or at the Saturday Trinidad Farmer's Market. All the farms are open for the community to volunteer and help out - along with Sunday Farm tours (please call). School groups and organizations are encouraged to participate! CSA's (Community Supported Agriculture) is a way for communities to regain their food independence and security, it's an answer to helping small farms survive through this time of large corporate farming, and a means for people to become a part of growing the food they eat. Take a Sunday drive up the river, tour the beautiful mountain farms, and enjoy a homegrown/cooked meal! (we are looking for donations of various gardening tools, water cisterns, hoses and wheelbarrows) The Learning Farm CSA Cooperative was recently granted a greenhouse by the Colorado Health Foundation which will extend our season and provide farm programs for children." |
