2009 Projects:

Erecting a 32' x 16' greenhouse for the CSA

Trinidad Community Garden is in its 5th season.
First come, first serve basis. Grow your own with community support!
Look for our first meeting in March.

2008 Projects:

Created the Learning Farms CSA Cooperative
Fed over 12 families in the first year with fresh locally grown organic produce
Building a chicken house / greenhouse
Built the first floor log post & beam of our house. Yeah!

May 4^th-6^th Environmental science 3-day camp for high school students: solar hot water shower project
We will be building our log post and beam cordwood masonry house this summer. We plan to start in June. See the schedule for the Log post and beam housebuilding seminar!

Off the Farm

The Trinidad Community Garden is in it's 3^rd season. All the plots have been spoken for and we are considering a 2^nd Community garden in another part of town, due to the demand for plots.
CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Project : This entails farming a large area sustainably to produce organic produce for the local community. The farm has been found, the demand is there, now the planning begins. We are looking for interested people to help farm this land. Still developing a core group to focalize this project. Get Involved! Interested in permaculture / forest farming.
Local food co-op in Trinidad / Alternative Living Center : Still in the idea stages
Educating the community on Relocalization : Buy from local merchants, locally grown food, develop local economy to provide for it's community.

2006 Projects:

added a greenhouse onto the south side of the cabin.(Thanks Dad!)
built a roof over the outdoor kitchen
built a woodshed
