Our
Mission
To educate for a sustainable tomorrow through experiential
programs that encourage social consciousness, environmental awareness, and
individual responsibility.
Philosophy
We would like everyone who visits to gain an unforgettable
experience in natural simplicity. To take away the excess in our
lives gives us a clear picture of ourselves and the world around us.
Through self-discovery and experiential education one can realize the
integral role we humans play within the world, both socially and environmentally.
Learning to live our lives in a more efficient manner will assure that
future generations will be able to live healthy and happy lives.
Those equipped with independence, understanding, balance and compassion
shall succeed greatly and carry humanity on towards a healthy sustainable
future.
Description
Earth
Mountain Education Farm is a 440 acre environmental education center
nestled in unique canyons of the Sangre de Cristo Range and the beautiful
Wahatoya Mountains, at an elevation of 8,500 feet. We share our home
with black bear, elk, deer, coyote, fox, porcupine, mountain lion, and
bobcat, to name but a few friends.
These canyons are ideal for learning and connecting with
the many diverse flora and fauna that are abundant. Earth Mountain's
40 acre base camp offers a wealth of learning opportunities since we are a
living example of working sustainable farm. The surrounding acres
present many hiking trails and overnight experiences.
